The Brazilian Ceramic Is The Highlight, For The Second Consecutive Year, Of The Largest Design Festival Of The World

Ten Brazilian companies, manufacturers of ceramic tile and sanitaryware and winners of the Best in Show Award - Ceramics of Brazil, will present their pieces during the Milan Design Week in April

Brazil is one of the major international players in the ceramic tile industry, occupying the second place in the world ranking of production and consumption, with exports to over 110 countries on all continents. In addition to the quantitative results, the Brazilian coverings and sanitary ware are the "state of the art" regarding aesthetic and quality.

Aiming to highlight even more the high value added Brazilian products, ANFACER (Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Ceramic Tiles, Sanitary Ware and Related Products), entity that represents the industry in Brazil and internationally, in partnership with APEX-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), created the award "Best in show - Ceramics of Brazil".

The edition of the award was held during the 14th EXPO REVESTIR, which took place last March in São Paulo/SP. The winning products will be exhibited at the Università Degli Studi di Milano, a place of great visitation between April 11th and 17th 2016, as part of the BRAZIL S/A exhibit. The public expectation is of 120 thousand people. The Festival of the Italian city is the largest, most traditional and most important of the world.

To elect the best lines in different categories of the prize "Best in Show - Ceramics of Brazil," ANFACER counted on the curatorship of journalist and design critic Marcelo Lima and a body of highly qualified jury composed of 11 professionals of communication that work in the architecture and decoration segment. They are: Alexandre Ferreira (Editorial Director of Casa Claudia magazine), Allex Colontonio (Editorial Director of Kaza magazine), Célia Paccini (Editor of Casa Mix magazine), Clarissa Schneider (Editor-in-chief of Bamboo magazine), Fernando Serapião ( Editor of Monolito magazine), Regina Galvão (Editor of Casa Claudia Luxo magazine), Simone Quintas (Editorial Director of Casa e Jardim magazine), Artur de Andrade (Editor-in-Chief of Casa Vogue magazine); Amanda Reis (Director of ArchDaily); Silvana Rosso (Editor of Decora Magazine) and Fernando Mungioli (Publisher of Projeto Design Magazine).

This year, the "Best in Show - Ceramics of Brazil" features yet another innovation: the Grand Prix of Architects and Interior Designers with a body of jury composed of professionals Brunete Fraccaroli, David Bastos, Diego Revollo, Fernanda Marques, Fernando Fortes, Joia Bergamo, Marcelo Rosenbaum, Marco Aurélio Viterbo, Patricia Martinez and Renata Amaral.

The winners will also be able to use the seal "Best in Show" in its disclosures, advertising, among other things, for a year.

Check out below the testimony of the promoters and curator and details of companies and products that have received the seal "Best in Show - Ceramics of Brazil - Expo Revestir Edition 2016".

"The goal of Best in Show - Ceramics of Brazil is to recognize the best products introduced by members during the year and to enhance the national industry. Also, to stimulate opportunities in new areas and to promote international business opportunities", says Antonio Carlos Kieling, superintendent ANFACER.

"In its second edition, the receptivity achieved by Anfacer's Best in Show. - Ceramics of Brazil award, really surprised me. The manufacturers aiming to offer to the jury's appreciation really interesting products of different gradients, was a notorious aspect. The jury, interested in knowing more, in order to make a fair and appropriate appreciation was also observed. Thus, I can only believe that we are in the right direction and our initiative is fulfilling its greater function: to collaborate to the development and affirmation of national ceramic industry. Let Milan come!", celebrates Marcelo Lima.

"With the 'Best in Show', we stimulate the national industry and we also take the products with international standard to the Milan Week, highlighting the Brazilian industry and promoting the brands that are a reference in design and technology," says Lauro Andrade Filho, Executive Director of Expo Revestir.
