EXPO REVESTIR CONGREGATES BRAZILIAN RETAIL SECTOR

The INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION received, on its second day, the leading business and retail executives from the sector, who were gathered at a lunch with a lecture given by the journalist specialized in economics, Miriam Leitão, who spoke about the global economic scenario as well as the growth opportunities and challenges in Brazil.

A one-of-a-kind opportunity to exchange experiences and get professional updating, the II Forum of Leaders of Retail and Building Material Industry, brought together the biggest and most important retailers and major manufacturers in the segment.

Antonio Carlos Kieling, president of EXPO REVESTIR and the INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION, welcomed the audience, greeted the presence of Paulo Fernandes Montano from BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank), and made special thanks to three key partners during the 10-year period of the event: Grau 10 Editora, Abramat (Brazilian Association of Building Material Industry) and Anamaco (National Association of Building Material Retailers).

ART MEETS ARCHITECTURE AT EXPO REVESTIR 2012



Since last Tuesday, March 6th, the pavilion of the Transamerica Expo Center, where EXPO REVESTIR is being held, has welcome six artists, invited by Eduardo Srur to occupy 250 meters of temporary fencing at the entrance of the fair, which runs through March 9th. With the theme "EXPO REVESTIR and FORUM: 10 years contributing to the quality of life in dwelling", the artists are developing large murals with painting and graffiti on the side fencings of the public access walkways.

Eduardo Srur was invited by the event organizers to develop the project and to select the artists. Well-known for his urban interventions, he said the role of this exhibition is "to transform the passage spaces of the fair into artistic production areas. It is another form of covering, since artists also cover the city walls with paint, spray and creativity”. The guest artists are experienced in fast occupation of large urban spaces. They are: Ozi, Galo, Shock, Zumi, Tché and Guilherme Callegari.



To Callegari, the initiative to bring together design and architecture professionals and a trial art work, such as graffiti, is very important. "I came here with the idea of working contemporary images so as to inspire visitors to the fair." In turn, the Argentinian Marina Zumi said she came to the event in order to convey peace, comfort and well-being to the public, through her street art.

To Lauro Andrade Filho, director of EXPO REVESTIR and INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION, art and architecture are worlds that complement, interact and inspire each other. ”Paintings are made on temporary fencings, which were chosen primarily because they represent the embodiment and the truest interface between the world of construction and the people”.
